Hi! I'm Ana Viale Moutinho.

Cooking is my thing, especially when it’s all about traditional Portuguese food.

 

I grew up in Porto, where I learned to cook by watching and helping my mom and grandmas. They showed me all the secrets of Portuguese cooking. Later, I decided to learn even more, so I took some cooking classes to get better at it. I’ve also written a book called “Cozinha da Beira Alta,” which is filled with recipes from Beira Alta, the place my family is from.

 

I really love everything about Portuguese culture and enjoy sharing it with others through food. I’m all about making tasty Portuguese dishes and “petiscos,” and I wanted to share my passion with more people. That’s why I started this cooking course – to spread the love for Portuguese food around.

What to expect

You will visit my apartment in Porto where you will learn how to cook – hands-on! –  traditional Portuguese recipes that I learned from my mother and grandmothers. In 4 hours, you will cook (don’t worry, I’ll guide you step-by-step), and taste the dishes at my dining table, while having a fun time.

In this culinary experience you will LEARN HOW TO MAKE:

  • A Portuguese traditional soup
  • A Portuguese main cod dish 
  • A Portuguese dessert 
  • A Portuguese typical drink made with wine

You will also have appetizers (seasoned olives, cheese and smoked meats) and also water, coffee and tea.
